Guma is a set of household objects created from discarded tires.

Of the 33.5 million tires used annually in Mexico, 91 percent is abandoned, 5 percent is recycled, 2 percent is deposited in collection centers and the final 2 percent is used as fuel by cement companies. Guma looks to halt this enormous waste, reusing the constructive properties of rubber to create new, environmentally friendly objects. By extending the lifecycle of the tire, Guma reduces the ecological impact of mass rubber waste while inspiring new approaches to post-consumer design.
