EpiTent is a portable habitation solution for humanitarian emergencies. Development began in 2014 when a call went out to develop proposals to improve the lives of caregivers during the West African Ebola outbreak.
A major issue with emergency tents currently in use across the African continent is heat. EpiTent addresses this problem by passively lowering the temperature inside the tent by over ten degrees Celsius, while also cutting the humidity level by over 95%. The tents design allows for better interactions between people inside and outside the tent while protecting from elements such as bad weather and airborne pests.
