Centre for National Unification

We are currently witnessing the highest levels of displacement on record since World War Two.

Globally, over the last decade, we have seen the number of displaced people more than double to 71 million, with the effects of natural disasters and ongoing conflicts making forced migration a defining issue of the 21st century. The Centre for National Unification aims to improve the future experience of refugee resettlement through the facilitation of intercultural education, increased community interaction and championing the importance of social cohesion and compassion. Through the inclusion of lower level reflection spaces and walkways with imperceptible end points, the design enables visitors to explore, stop, reflect and connect.
