Ankoré – Providing Passage Home

Ankoré is a refurbished rescue vessel concept designed to improve humanitarian rescue missions at sea.

The World Economic Forum predicts that by 2030 as many as one billion people will have been displaced due to climate change, natural disasters, and war. As displacement problems increase, so will the need for services that provide humanitarian relief. Ankoré aims to address and improve the empathic aspects of humanitarian rescue missions by taking into consideration both the medical and psychological aid provided during them. By re-designing the rescue ship, the project provides ten new service concepts in order to provide a sense of security and belonging among asylum seekers and refugees during all stages of the rescue journey.
