Karachi is host to 45,000 migrant workers every month who travel from all over Pakistan to find work. While finding employment is easy, many of these people are not able to find affordable accommodation – forcing them to sleep on the streets. Zambeel is a short-term response to this issue, offering a practical and more dignified sleeping solution for migrant workers. Its canvas bag has a sleeping mat built into the back pocket, while the front pocket can be used to store valuables and act as a pillow at night. An incorporated lock-and-chain system means that the bag can be left chained up, while the discreet design of the pack means that it can be carried to work without causing embarrassment.
