About

Using discarded fruit as biomaterial to make doggy poop scoopers

A study from 2017 showed that 64% of Thailand’s municipal waste is made up of food waste. This is due mostly to consumer expectations in terms of food appearance and inaccurate demand forecasting on the side of retailers. At the same time, the country has a large dog population (8.5m) which leads to heavy use of disposable plastic bags to collect excrements. The Dog Poop Scooper combines fruit fibres and other bioplastic ingredients into a strong yet flexible small bag, with an ergonomic design that makes it easy to collect and dispose of dog excrements in a sustainable way.
