Vochlea is a prototyping tool developed to translate musical ideas into audible reality. Embodied in a handheld device, the system profiles the voice of the user and translates their input sound into output instrumentation. Vochlea allows the user to translate beatboxing to real-time drums and humming into a controlled and intricate guitar melody. The full subtlety of the system even allows the user to vocally add effects such as distortion, phasor and wah-wah.
