The Up-cycling Vending Machine (UVM) is an innovative and intelligent machine that encourages and engages citizens to give a second life to used plastic bags. It can be deployed anywhere, including residential areas where people can feed used plastic (grocery) bags into the UVM, which will instantly turn those bags into rope. The recycled rope can substitute different plastic ropes already in the market and can be used in many applications such as aquaculture, agriculture and more.
