About

Using gaming to increase awareness of surveillance technology and privacy issues

Undercover is a conceptual augmented reality game that intends to raise awareness of mass surveillance in society today. We are watched by cameras everywhere we go and have got used to it, perhaps forgetting about our individual rights to privacy. Using the facial recognition system that cameras use, this game turns it around; the player identifies the cameras and hides from them. This will educate players into how heavily they are being watched and encourage them to be vigilant about their data privacy.
