TippyTalk is a smartphone app that allows people with verbal disabilities to communicate by translating pictures into text messages. The translated message is then sent to a family member or care giver’s phone or tablet, allowing the verbally disabled person to communicate a desire, want, need or feeling to another anywhere in the world. The app also reinforces language development, by allowing a parent or caregiver to record his or her voice over each picture.
Rob designed tippytalk using industrial robotic equipment to help his nonverbal 5 year old daughter communicate, She now expresses desires wants needs and feeling to him using tippytalkmore
