SoleMaker is part of ongoing research on how personalization by programing material properties can be supported by data, agency and user input. It is a parametric program which customises the shape and material properties of 3D-printed shoe soles via an input scan of the user’s feet and personal interaction. The user scans their foot, designs the shape of the sole, designs the support of the sole then digitally fabricates a fully wearable shoe.
