ProKids is a modular upper limb prosthetic arm for children in India where there are many cases of congenital and acquired amputation. The bionic prosthesis is one of the most advanced and intuitive control-based systems but ProKids believe a prosthesis should also enhance the user’s experience and connect to its users emotionally and functionally. The project aims to let kids utilise the advantages of a bionic arm and develop muscle memory while adapting to its modular design. It is intended to increase the lifespan of the prosthesis, whilst helping to reduce the costs of investing in new prostheses every few years.
