Phototherapy Nest SvetTex

About

A textile phototherapy system for jaundice that embeds light therapy inside the device

SvetTex Nest is a phototherapy device for treating jaundice in premature babies. The device is made from a light-emitting textile designed to offer infants a womb-like environment. The nest’s inner blankets are woven from cotton and optical fibre yarns to be flexible, permeable and easy to sterilise. Optical fibres do not produce any heat, or ultraviolet or infrared radiation that can be harmful to infants. The device’s outer blankets are made from a non-luminous textile to protect caregivers’ eyes from the light inside. A cushion at the bottom of the device protects the infant’s legs from the light source while allowing him or her to develop stronger muscles by pushing up against the SvetTex Nest’s inner walls.
