About

A framework to diagnose Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) affects up to twenty per cent of women in the United Kingdom, yet most are either diagnosed later than they should or misdiagnosed because of the fluctuating nature of the condition’s symptoms. Ova is a four-part initiative designed to engage young women, communities of PCOS patients and key stakeholders within the public-health sector to begin systematically screening for symptoms earlier in a playful, accessible and non-invasive way. By incentivising these groups to learn more about PCOS, accurate diagnosis becomes more likely and agency is transferred from medical specialists to broader sectors of the population.
