Advanced reflex testing for early diagnosis of neurological diseases

The Flexision measuring devices use electromyography, linear magnetic acceleration and ultrasonic sensors to provide data about a person's reflexes. Early diagnosis of reflex abnormalities is important as they are often linked to certain disorders and neurological diseases. To offer highly individual and precise evaluations the results of the exam are not compared with an arbitrary central scale. Rather, the device allows to observe the changes of the reflexes from measurement to measurement. This is necessary, because the behaviour of reflexes differs significantly depending on age, health and genetics.

    I'm David, an Industrial/Medical Designer from Hamburg Germany. I recently finished my Master Thesis in 2020 with the project FLEXISION, that you're seeing presented here at the Global Grad Show. While I've always had a special interest in the medical field, I enjoy working with design in all areas, especially when it comes to deep concepts that aim to benefit society. For me design is a way to create visions of where we can take the world in the next 20+ years, whether it comes to technology, sustainability or community.more
