The Flat World is a research-based design project concerned with questioning the objectivity of maps by inquiring who is behind their creation. The project deconstructs the concept of borders by analysing the criteria through which those borders are crafted. With the support of historical information and data collected from treaties and world maps the project proposes six complementary maps. These maps provide an alternative narrative and an unconventional understanding of the world, to encourage questioning concepts of nationalism and identity.
