AirDisc Cooling Technologies


A low-energy alternative to air conditioners

AirDisc Cooling Technologies is an alternative air-conditioner design that uses only ten per cent of the electricity required from a conventional installation. The device consists of a rotating set of concentric air tanks through which air is passed and compressed, being cooled in the process. As well as having a low energy requirement, it also bypasses the chemical refrigerants used in conventional air conditioners – avoiding the use of an expensive, toxic and extremely hazardous material.

    Maria Yzabell Angel V. Palma, a mechanical engineering student at the De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines. As a child, Maria Yzabell Angel, dreamt of becoming an astronaut. This propelled her to read more about science and do well in her academics during her elementary days at Universidad de Sta. Isabel Naga, Philippines. She would spend most of her time with her father asking about technologies and tinkering on appliances that are in their house. It is anticipated that AirDisc will play a pivotal role in the issue of Global warming. Driven by her childhood memories when she and her late grandmother would do charity works, her main goal is to make this air conditioning technology available to everyone.more
