Project Shiva

Project Shiva is a wearable robotic arm that enhances human capability and foresees a future where people are equipped with more than two hands.

Wearing a specifically designed harness, users can attach one or more robotic arms. The arms are manually positioned by hand or commanded via voice and gestures. Project Shiva’s mechanical arms can carry out coordinated tasks, such as dancing, screwing in bolts, or providing passive assistance like holding a tool. Inspired by the lack of innovation in wearable robotics outside of skeletal and prosthetics research, Project Shiva seeks to find a balanced relationship between the human body and robotic attachments.
